Due to the geographic location and the availability of raw materials Valmos specializes in production of rotary and sliced birch veneer generally with a thickness of 0,55mm. The company employs more than 200 people and produces approximately 12mln m2 of birch veneer per year.
The factory started its operation in April 2004 with production space of 9,000m2. Veneer is produced with 3 peeling lines and 1 slicer. The production uses about 18,000m3 of logs per year. More than 95% of the output is birch veneer with a smaller volume of pine veneer. The logs are carefully selected and brought from Estonia as well as neighboring Latvia, Finland and Russia.
Valmos has a possibility to supply birch veneer of high quality in constant volumes year round due to the northern climate which allows preserving the logs in a special “winter stock” under snow throughout the summer.
Our veneer is environmentally-friendly, natural product – no chemicals are used in the production process. The heating energy for the factory comes from our boiler house which is using wood waste. Most of the logs are supplied from FSC certified forests and Valmos have right to use following FSC labels: „FSC Mixed Credit” and „FSC Controlled Wood”.
Our birch veneer is exported all over the world. We have earned reputation of a reliable supplier with a constantly good quality of the product able to fulfill any need in birch veneer. Valmos is a leading supplier to some of the biggest producers of birch-veneered furniture as well as small shops looking for specific qualities.
